Who Should Buy Nova 5X?
Good fit
Choose the Arctis Nova 5X if you want one headset for Xbox gaming, other supported systems, and Bluetooth listening.
The compact USB-C dongle and button-operated wireless switch suit players who regularly move between a game and a phone call or media.
It is also a good fit if long intervals between charges matter or if you want game-specific audio presets without relying only on manual adjustments.
The retractable microphone and on-headset mute, volume, and ChatMix controls add practical flexibility for play sessions.
Who should skip it
Skip it if your setup depends on a connection beyond the listed 2.4GHz gaming and Bluetooth options, or if your preferred device is outside the stated platform range. Confirm compatibility for your exact hardware before purchase.
SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5X Review Analysis
Switching between gaming and mobile audio
The headset pairs 2.4GHz gaming with Bluetooth 5.3 and puts quick-switch on a tap control.
That makes it convenient for shifting attention to a call or media, while buyers who require simultaneous mixing should verify that a switch-based setup is enough for them.
Battery and charging convenience
A 60-hour battery and a fast-charge option that gives six hours of use in 15 minutes reduce the need to plan frequent charging around play.
The exact runtime will depend on how the headset is used, so treat the stated capacity as a reference point rather than a guarantee for every session.
Presets, microphone, and controls
The companion app's 100+ game presets provide a way to start with game-specific audio settings, while the retractable microphone can move out of the way when not needed.
Power, mute, volume, ChatMix, and quick-switch buttons keep common adjustments on the headset; the presence of a microphone alone does not settle how well calls will sound in noisy surroundings.
